Characteristics and Applications of 4A Zeolite

The crystal structure of 4A zeolite is composed of silicon-oxygen tetrahedron and aluminum-oxygen tetrahedron, forming a three-dimensional spatial framework structure. Due to the introduction of aluminum ions, the framework carries a negative charge, which needs to be balanced by cations (such as sodium ions). This structure gives 4A zeolite a large specific surface area and a uniform microporous structure, giving it excellent ion exchange capacity and adsorption performance.

Main Applications of 4A Zeolite

1. Detergent Builder: 4A zeolite can replace sodium tripolyphosphate as a phosphorus-free detergent builder, soften water quality, enhance decontamination ability, and is environmentally friendly. Its efficient calcium ion exchange capacity helps prevent the redeposition of dirt.

2. Adsorbent and desiccant: Due to its unique pore structure, 4A zeolite can be used to adsorb water and other small molecules, and is widely used in gas purification, solvent dehydration and other fields.

3. Catalyst carrier: The high specific surface area and good thermal stability of 4A zeolite make it an ideal catalyst carrier, which can be used for various catalytic reactions in the petrochemical industry.
